Week 2, Day 4: Jesus' Challenge

Welcome back to Week 2 of Captivated Heart: Server Training.  This week we are focusing on Jesus as Lord, and for the next three days we're going to narrow that down further as we listen to what HE says it means for Him to be Lord of our life. You see, it is much easier to merely say that Jesus is Lord than it is to actually allow His character to be our own, His Words to be our direction, and to follow Him as He calls us to follow.  We're going to dig in and find out how we might let Christ define what His Lordship is and means in our lives.

Start day 3 this week by reading 2 Corinthians 1:15-22.  Again, I've linked it in several versions to give you a better understanding of the text.

Think back to the very first devotion we did together here.  I asked you if you had felt God calling you to serve at Women's Encounter, or if you decided to do it on your own, and I asked you to spend some time praying about how God was calling you to be a part of this ministry.

Today I want you to think a bit more about what motivated you to decide to be a part of Women's Encounter.  Look back at verse 17 of today's reading  and ask yourself these questions:
  • How do we go about making plans?
  • How should we go about making plans?
  • What might this look like in your Encounter ministry?
  • What might this look like in your life?
Spend some time praying that you will follow God's leading as you make plans for your life.

Here are today's Gospel readings.  Remember...stick with the same Gospel you've been reading all week!

Matthew 11-12

Mark 6:30-7:23

Luke 11:37-12:59

John 5, 7, 8
