Week 3, Day 5: The Call to Christlikeness, Part 3

On Sunday we talked about what Jesus DID.  Yesterday we looked at the attitude He had while He did those things. Today we're going to look at the result of that attitude.

Today's reading is Philippians 2:9-11.   The first word of this passage is "therefore," which means we have to back up and find what it is "there for."  Look again at Philippians 2:6-8.

Because Jesus lived and died with humility, and because He was obedient to His Father and gave Himself over to death on a cross, God exalted Him to the highest possible place.  There is no other name that compares to His, no other that compels all of creation to reverent worship.

Why was Jesus' humility so important for His exaltation?  Why does "every knee bow" and "every tongue confess" that He is Lord?

Make sure you journal your thoughts.

Pray to our Father, bowing before Him and confessing that Jesus is truly your Lord.
