Week 4, Day 3: The Resurrection Life

Start today by reading 1 Corinthians 15:1-28.

The New Testament speaks of a faction of Jewish leaders called the Sadducees.  They were most known for their denial of any sort of afterlife and their subsequent disbelief in any sort of resurrection.  Can you imagine not having any hope for life beyond the "here and now?"  Seriously, if life is this hard and the rewards so few, what makes any of it worth it?  Even Paul said, "If our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world." (v.19)

But as believers in Christ, we know without a doubt that this world, this temporary life, is not the "end all and be all."  We have a HOPE for something beyond this temporal craziness.  We have this hope because of the authority that God gave to His Son, Jesus.

From today's reading, consider what things are subjected to the risen Lord and what that means for your life as His follower.  Write your thoughts in your journal.

During your prayer time today, first spend time responding to the hope God has given you through His Son, and then pray for someone you know who is living without that hope.
